From Murray’s Diary
Despite a bit of chaos with the things we were projecting last week at 10.00 am, it was a very encouraging service.  (Actually it was the computer we were having problems with not our new projector, that worked very well!)
I have had lots of positive feedback about the whole service and especially both the videos we showed.  I was pleased that you could see our new Bishop in action and be more aware of the amazing things going on at the Focus Church who are based here.
But mostly I was so encouraged by the picture of our church which emerged when we thought about why we like to come to       St Paul’s.  I will write it all up when I have a bit more time and space on the notice sheet.  But, for the time being, I give you with the thoughts that St Paul’s is a place where people are valued and supported and most of all where lots of us can contribute and learn to use the gifts God has given us.
All this shows me how much we are growing as a church – for I am sure that we would not have been able to say all this five years ago.  It really helps with our next challenge which is to be more active in sharing our faith with those around us.
Sorry not to be at 10.00 am this week, I am resting up ready for my journey to Sevenoaks

From Murray’s Diary
This week I had my third therapy session at the ME clinic – I am half way through the course already!  I mentioned to my therapist a few positive signs I had noticed. She felt that they were, indeed, very significant and showed that I was at last beginning to recover.  It is hard to describe what a relief this is after so many years of getting worse!

I was also able to talk over a bit more about the things I find particularly difficult and how best to cope with them, as well as the times when I do too much and become exhausted.

It is strange to see Sevenoaks listed in Mike’s activities!  As my home town, it still holds a special place in my mind and I hope the filming goes well.  As it happens I am going down to Sevenoaks in the next few weeks to see my Aunt, who still lives there, and is now in her mid nineties.

I don’t think of the town as home any more, but being there still has a way of connecting me powerfully with my roots.  I am looking forward to seeing the familiar landmarks and the countryside I still remember so well after all the years!

It will be the longest journey that I will have made for a long time, so I am a bit concerned how I will cope, and how much recovery time will be needed, but I still think it will be worth the trip!
